Gmail Drive helps to enlarge the storing space by using the space offered by Gmail account.
Gmail Drive is an extension for the Windows operating system to use the Gmail account as a virtual file system for storing all kinds of documents. This way the user can have a shared storage between multiple machines, which is based on the storage space offered by Gmail to store files.
To do this, the software adds a virtual hard disk to Windows workstation. Copying a file to the Gmail account also becomes simple if it was done on a local hard drive.
The drive access is secured and requires the user to identify with the user name and password GMail account to access the data.
Google is preparing for Gmail 2.0 and restructured their login. They will allow 3rd party tools to access an interim version for some time, but be prepared that GMail Drive may break again. Version 1.0.12 fixes the login, and now works with Google Apps accounts (hosted domains) too.
