CDBurnerXP 4.2.1

cdburnerxp.se - (Freeware)

Everything we expect from a burning software can be found at CDBurnerXP.

CDBurnerXP is a tool for creating CD and DVD with data, video or audio tracks.

The interface is fairly simple to navigate. The conventional arrangement of such tools include: top explorer for the source files, and the CD's / DVD downstairs. Features offer the essential: CD / DVD data burning and creating ISO image, create audio CDs from WAV, MP3, WMA or Ogg, or CD MP3. In addition, the software offers a CD ripping Audio in these formats with recovery ID3v2 tags from Freedb module. The main disc formats are supported except for DVD dual layer, which are nevertheless included in a future release.

CDBurnerXP can burn data on the following media: CD-R, CD-RW, DVD + R, DVD-R, DVD + RW, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, BD and HD-DVD. Function also allows engraving on double-layer media. It is even compatible with the "M-Discs" which has a life of 1000 years.

Creating a boot disk is also on the program. For that, it is up to the user to find the necessary files to the appropriate operating systems and the software will do the engraving. A verification tool indicates whether the data were well written to the CD or DVD.

An Audio CD can be created from the following file formats: MP3, WAV, OGG, WMA, FLAC, APE, MPC and WV. It features a music player to listen to the files before burning. Audio CDs are created automatically exempted from the silences that lie between two pieces.

There are primarily bug fixes in this release, but we also got a localised installer. It has not yet been translated to all languages though.

The past releases had problems especially with burning MP3 files as audio disc, this release should put an end to them. However, I could only add a workaround, with the downside that all MP3 files go through some preprocessing which will take somewhat longer than before. The real solution is yet to be delivered by Numedia Soft (who are the developers of the burning library).
