TortoiseSVN is a revision / version / source control . It is files and directories that are stored in a central repository over time. This way it is possible to recover older versions of the files and examine the history of how and when the data has changed.

All "commits" and "updates" of common files are updated from the repository and TortoiseSVN allows the access and especially the return to a previous version. This client for Subversion also offers a quick view of the status of a file from overlay icons.

Shelving and Unshelving:
This feature allows you to shelve local changes, work on something else and commit and then unshelve those stored changes again.
New UI for TortoiseMerge:
TortoiseMerge has been rewritten to use the Windows ribbon controls instead of the custom one. Which makes TortoiseMerge start up much faster than before and the UI also reacts faster.
TortoiseMerge can now show and change the encoding of the files and the EOLs.
Various improvements:
Almost every dialog and feature got improved and added some small features.
