Avidemux offers a free solution for video editing and encoding, less confusing than other similar softwares for a newbie.
Avidemux is a free open source video editor that is available on multiple platforms.
It allows the cutting of video sequences, applying filters and encoding. Avidemux supports many formats, including AVI, MPEG-2, MP4, MKV or ASF using many codecs ( H263 , MPEG4 , XviD or x264 for video, Blade, FAAC , Vorbis , WAV, including AC3 for audio ), the creation of projects including several encoding tasks , or adding many filters ( deinterlacing , cropping , subtitles ... ) with management scripts.
Tasks can be automated thanks to projects in the queue and the ability to create scripts.
Everything is easily accessible: the choice of audio and video codecs, adding filters or preview the video and setting benchmarks for start and end .
