AIM allows to keep in touch with family, friends, colleagues in a very easy manner.
AIM is a reference despite fierce competition from Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger.
The application offers support tabs for the chat feature, which requires the installation of third party software for Windows Live Messenger, Messenger Plus as interface. AIM also integrates with other AOL services and features and allows to listen to AOL Radio stations from the client, or manage AOL Webmail account.
With AIM, AOL Messenger, user can exchange messages instantly online with friends, relatives, colleagues, participate in trade shows public discussion on the favorite topics and also know permanently if his family, friends or colleagues are connected.
The live video instant messaging feature is back in this build after having been removed from version 1.2.37.2. Some testing is needed on this feature, so if you have a web cam, please take a few moments to use this feature and report back any issues you run across.
The Buddy Updates feature is also back after being turned off the last week. The 'Buddy Updates' feature allows users to view changes that their buddies make to their Away Messages and Profiles. A rust colored icon, called the Buddy Update indicator, appears to the right of screen names in the Buddy List feature to alert AIM users to their buddies' changes. This feature is on by default and can be turned off via the Privacy Settings. Please report any performance issues you find with this feature and if necessary, refer to the Test Instructions section for more details about it.
